Delamar Greenwich Harbor will have an exclusive partnership with Indian Harbor Yacht Club this year for their Classic Yacht Regatta on September 16th and 17th.
Delamar Greenwich Harbor will be offering the opportunity for locals and guests of the hotel to have VIP viewing of IHYC’s Classic Yacht Regatta from Delamar’s rare, custom yachts accompanied by l’escale private label champagne or IHYC’s traditional “Black Top” cocktail and a l’escale lobster roll. Normally, people need to be a member of IHYC to have access to this regatta.
Charles Mallory, founder of the Delamar Hotels, has a long line of family history that is associated with Indian Harbor Yacht Club, and US Sailing. Clifford Day Mallory Sr., Charles Mallory’s grandfather, was commodore of the Indian Harbor Yacht Club in the 1930s. Starting in 1930, IHYC had a long tradition of actively supporting high school and middle school sailing. That year, Indian Harbor’s Commodore Clifford Day Mallory helped create high school sailing and today, the interscholastic national championship bears his name, ‘The Mallory Trophy.’ He was President of the Yacht Racing Association of Long Island Sound during this period as well. Clifford Day Mallory was one of the IHYC members that defined the sport of sailing as a founding participant of NAYRU (North American Yacht Racing Union), known today at US Sailing, the US Power Squadron, the Yacht Racing Union of Long Island Sound, and The American Power Boating Association.
There will be a limited number of tickets available (18 tickets per time slot). Tickets are $240 per person.
