Stamford Downtown is proud to install Hippo Ballerina, created in 2016 by Bjorn Okholm Skaarup. Hippo Ballerina is cast in bronze and is over 15-feet tall and weighs over 2 ½ tons.
On loan from Bjorn Okholm Skaarup and Cavalier Gallery, Stamford Downtown is THRILLED that Hippo Ballerina will spend her Summer and Fall here in Stamford Downtown!
Hippo Ballerina made her NYC debut in 2017 at Dante Park near Lincoln Center.
Since 2017, she has been exhibited in public art installations around New York City. On Tuesday May 9, 2023 at 8 am Hippo Ballerina will make her Stamford debut in front of the Ferguson Library.
